Sport:Annual wushu tourney kicks up participation

Despite failing to attract significant crowds of spectators to the indoor hall of Olympic Stadium, the 2012 National Wushu Championships welcomed an increase in participation compared to previous editions. Two hundred and eighteen male and 151 female competitors hailing from 13 clubs nationwide took to the mats for five days of fierce competition, which wrapped up on Saturday. Phnom Penh’s O’Russey Club took home the top haul of seven golds, five silvers and nine bronzes.
